Places I can’t get out of my head

The theme of this months travel link up hosted by Emma, Kelly and Rebecca with guest host Liz is ‘Places you can’t get out of your head’. Three are quite firmly planted there right now for very different reasons.

The place I will visit shortly

It’s part excitement, part ‘I have so much I need to organise!’ which means I can’t get Vietnam out of my head. Somewhere near the top of my to-do-list is booking a Halong Bay Junk Cruise where I’ll be in mid November.

Does anyone have a provider of choice they can recommend? Please let me know in the comments!

The fictional place

I’ve just about finished re-watching Gilmore Girls and OMG if only I could visit Stars Hollow. I’d attend a town meeting, take in a show at Miss Patty’s, drink coffee at Luke’s Diner and hang out with Lorelei and Rory at the cinema with copious amounts of junk food to throw at Kirk and Taylor.

The ‘In my dreams’ place

I will unashamedly admit Made In Chelsea has been my favourite TV programme for over three years now. I very much want to live there. When I raise my excitement about heading home to watch a new episde, people who have never watched the show say something like ‘oh, is that like The Only Way Is Essex?. NO IT’S NOT – I like classy, not trashy.

Three years ago I walked The Kings Road keeping an eye out for the likes of Spencer, Ollie and Millie, sipped coffee at The Bluebird and window shopped in places only they could afford.

Made in Chelsea

What place can you not get out of your head? Is there a fictional place you wish you could visit?

Gilmore Girls is on the tv when I go to the gym in the morning. How cool would it be to visit Stars Hollow! Thank you for joining in with #teamwanderlust

Vietnam just looks stunning…I’ve been following a blogger on instagram recently that travelled through Vietnam…pops straight to the top of my travel wish list!

Love this take on the theme – I am a secret watcher of MIC too, but I just couldn’t live anywhere near them!

hahaha that’s actually a very valid point – who would want to live anywhere near them?!

Love how you’ve included a fictional place! My list could go on and on if I did this! I’ve never been to Vietnam but it sounds like you have an awesome trip planned 🙂

Have an amazing time in Vietnam! If you’re trying to save the pennies, be careful in Hoi-An; the seamstresses are very convincing and before you know it, you’ll have bought a bunch of garments you don’t need! The roads in Hanoi are pretty fun as well; walk with confidence and the motorbikes will move around you 🙂

Thanks Amy – some great advice right there! I have rather restricted luggage limits so definitely must avoid buying too much. As for the motorbikes, I have seen some ruthless behavior on YouTube!

I like the idea of visiting a fictional location and completely agree that Stars Hollow would be my destination of choice too.

I’ve been! I’ve been! Ok, I know it’s boasting and technically probably isn’t quite right, but we visited the Warners Brothers studios whilst in Los Angeles where it was all filmed – and it was AWESOME! (I’m really envious of your November Vietnam travels!)

WOAH THAT IS SOO COOL!! I occasionally see pieces of Stars Hollow popping up in places like Hart of Dixie and Pretty Little Liars so they obviously reuse the set haha

Right?! I think the coffee shop in friends would be a great spot to hang out too, and the bar in How I Met Your Mother. And Pawnee, the town in Parks and Recreation!
