We haven’t been to New Caledonia but friends have and said it was incredibly beautiful. We went to Vanuatu a couple of years ago, which has dual French/English heritage, and the language challenges to match. The locals are so friendly, we kept getting funny looks from people when we were back in Sydney because we were so used to saying hello and waving to everyone!
